Donald Trump Eliminates Stephen Bannon, Keeps Jared Kushner In “Apprentice’ Parody On ‘SNL’ – Watch Cold Open Video
“SNL” had Donald Trump having to eliminate either Stephen Bannon or Jared Kushner during the show’s first ever coast-to-coast live cold open. Alec Baldwin once again put on the blond wig again to poke fun of the president, who got rid of Bannon as his top advisor in a spoof of “The Apprentice.” Watch the “Saturday Night Live” video below.
Every single “Saturday Night Live” this season has opened with a political parody. A few have used Melissa McCarthy to poke fun of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, while another had Kate McKinnon portray Attorney General Jeff Sessions like Forrest Gump. But for the most part, the cold opens of “SNL” have featured Baldwin as Trump. During the election season, he and Kate McKinnon, who played Hillary Clinton, were skewered for their three debates. After Trump won, an episode opened in the Oval Office with the president warning allies, “Prepare to go to war.”
Another “SNL” kicked off with a parody of Trump’s first press conference during which he called CNN “fake news” for reporting on the untrue story about him having allegedly engaged in “golden showers” with prostitutes when he had once been in Russia. As Gossip Cop reported, many of the jokes were related to that act, with Baldwin’s Trump promising a “stream” of new jobs and how his presidency will provide a “golden” opportunity for Americans. Last week, “Saturday Night Live” mocked Trump for not being in touch with regular people while addressing folks in Kentucky about healthcare and jobs.
