Site runs out of gas on wrong Jennifer Aniston car story

HollywoodLife has shifted into reverse with an item about Jennifer Aniston that is both wrong and two and a half months old. The site, which previously brought us such breaking news as “New Couple Alert” about Ron Livingston and uh… his wife Rosemarie DeWitt, today has a piece about the Bentley Aniston bought herself several months ago.
HollywoodLife breathlessly reports, “Actually the Bentley was supposed to be for John Mayer, but she ended up keeping it for herself after they split! Good move, Jen — you made the right decision keeping this awesome car all to yourself.”
Wait. That story was originally in Star magazine, which claimed back in December that “she didn’t get the sexy toy for herself — it was meant as a gift for her off-again ex, John Mayer!”
Time for Gossip Cop to take the wheel (again), and steer this in the right direction.
Aniston did NOT buy the Bentley for Mayer. She bought it for herself.
The story wasn’t true in the Star two months ago, and it’s still not true in HollywoodLife today.
Unlike Aniston’s Bentley, this latest piece is a lemon.
