Site ridiculously reverses its previous posts on Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston

The only place where you can find more flip-flops than on the beaches of Rio is in the posts from HollywoodLife.

Just a little more than a month ago, HollywoodLife wrote a ridiculous piece about how Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler were faking a romance to help hype, “The Bounty Hunter.” 

We busted HollywoodLife back then. 

And four days ago, the same site claimed they caught Butler and Aniston having a “romantic rendezvous” in London.

Uh, they were in London for the premiere of “The Bounty Hunter” the following day. Oops.

Not leaving bad enough reporting alone, HollywoodLife laughably ran a piece the very next day with the headline, “Jen & Gerard — Looking Hot & Happy Together In London!”

That story, based on red carpet photos, declared, “The PDA [on the red carpet] makes you wonder … The Bounty Hunter costars HAVE TO BE romantically involved!” In fact, the writer of the post ridiculously added that people who think Aniston and Butler were “just promoting their movie and aren’t dating at ALL… don’t know what chemistry looks like!”

LOL.

For the one hundredth time: Butler and Aniston are just FRIENDS.

Now for the latest HollywoodLife reversal…

In another whiplash-inducing backtrack, the silly site today features a photo – similar to Butler’s recent pose with Aniston - of the actor hugging Katherine Heigl when they promoted “The Ugly Truth” back in August.

“We smell a pattern here!” now writes HollywoodLife, adding to Butler, “You always make sure to get all cozy with [costars] for photos on the red carpet!”

No, the only thing one can smell here is bad reporting.

Just to recap: First, HollywoodLife said Aniston and Butler were faking a relationship. Then, they announced the two “HAVE TO BE romantically involved,” based on red carpet photos. And now that’s followed by today’s red carpet photo analysis of… Oh, that just must be Butler’s “pattern.”

As far as Gossip Cop can tell, the one pattern that’s emerged is HollywoodLife making bad messes with its often contradictory guesses.
