Site Missteps With Betty White “Dancing With The Stars” Offer

After Betty White‘s wildly successful turn hosting “Saturday Night Live” last weekend, PopEater claims the “Golden Girls” star might have another TV gig coming up: “Dancing With The Stars.”
The site quotes a so-called insider who says “‘Dancing With The Stars’ would love to have Betty White grace the dance floor next season. Not only would she guarantee great ratings, she would also make it easier for a lot of big celebrities — who up to now have been sitting on the fence — to sign on.”
The article further notes White “hasn’t agreed to anything yet.”
Gossip Cop doesn’t doubt “Dancing With The Stars” would love to have Betty White, but White herself has said why she’s not willing to appear on the show.
In March, White told Larry King she had been asked in the past but “Cloris [Leachman] did it and she did fine. So I think she’s taken care of our age bracket.”
Still, Gossip Cop checked around and while a rep for the show says “We do not comment on casting rumors,” a source close to the production tells Gossip Cop that they “haven’t heard of any new offer to her.”
Additionally, a source who works with White was unaware of another offer and termed it a “ridiculous rumor.”
