Gossip Cop is amused by HollywoodLife’s strategy of throwing EVERYTHING against the wall and seeing what sticks.
Just days after saying, “we know a cute couple when we see one!” about Taylor Swift and Cory Monteith, and even asking readers to vote on “a couple” name for them, such as “Cortay” and “Swifteith,” HollywoodLife has done a complete turnaround and now claims, “Cory is just a decoy. She isn’t really dating him. They’re friends.”
Huh?
But we like the name “Swifteith”…
Instead, the site now proclaims that “Taylor Swift is ‘definitely dating’ John Mayer.”
“Definitely” is what they say – today. (We’ll see about tomorrow.)
But just in case they’re wrong about that as well, HollywoodLife now has a so-called “source,” who says Mayer and Swift, “aren’t ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level.”
For those who are confused, here’s the correct usage of the word “definitely”: Swift and Monteith have definitely gone on dates, and the singer has also definitely hung out with John Mayer, but HollywoodLife definitely has very little information about Swift’s personal life.

You know what’s also definitely clear, Michael? Like Bonnie and everyone else, you know absolutely fuck all about Taylor’s personal life. So please shut up!
I usually have high praise for you and the work you do. But on this particular story, no one knows anything definitively. So please stop putting on a show at the expense of those (I.e. Bonnie, Perez, et al) you clearly have it out for.
Don’t do it, Taylor! I love Mayer’s music, but the guy is a complete Himbo!! You deserve SO much better!

gossip cop I’d like to beleive you, because I think John is a complete douche and Taylor will lose whatever respect people still have for her after the grammys if it comes out that she has been seeing or sleeping with him on the sly, but you have offered no proof that you know anything. You claim someone close to Swift tells you Cory and Taylor went on a few dates, and then knock other sites for claiming “sources” How do you know your source is anymore credible than theirs? And why have you never addressed these John and Taylor rumors anyway, do “people close to Swift” have nothing to say about it or have you just not asked them, because those rumors are very substantial with many sightings and pictures and many gossip sites have written about them, yet you say nothing when you claim to be here to verify or bust rumors. Your credibility takes a bit of a beating here, and Hollywood Life’s statement that Cory is a decoy seems much more plausible in light of the backlash Swift has received for being seen with Mayer and seen as infatuated with Mayer. Those public sightings of her with Cory certainly came at the goldne opportune time to quash most of the rumors about her and John, since those sightings hardly anyone has written or speculated about it.
Anyway I have always admired your zeal in “busting” rumors but this one is starting to make me question whether you guys aren’t just like the rest. Give us some facts or don’t say anything at all.
Congrats Gossip Cop. Clearly you are doing what you set out to do, bust sites for getting stories wrong or, in this case, flip flopping.
Anyone who’s read Hollywood Life knows they’re a bunch of fools. I just searched through the archives and every time you busted them you were 100 percent right. Like when Hollywood Life said Miley Cyrus was engaged or their “New Couple Alert” about Ron Livingstone — and his wife! Haha.
Skeptical_Reader can question your sources all he/she wants, but you haven’t been wrong yet about a single Hollywood Life story, so keep doing what you’re doing.
Not sure why people are attacking, it’s not like YOU said Ron Livingstone has a new girlfriend… (Duh, his wife!)

Its not about thinking HollywoodLife is right. Its about throwing stones at others when clearly Michael knows no more about Taylor’s personal life than anyone else. I think everyone who has posted on this article knows HollywoodLife is pure BS. However, I agree with Trade and Skeptical_Reader when they say Michael comes up short on this particular story. One of those reasons is because this is the first time he’s bothered to say anything in reference to the Taylor and John rumors. And in finally making an acknowledgment of the rumors, he offers nothing to dispel them. He’s just throwing stones but not saying anything worthwhile.
This article is pointless and childish if you ask me. And like Trade said, it just sounds like you [Michael] have it out for Bonnie. And perhaps you do, in which case, you need to come up with something better than saying, “HollywoodLife definitely has very little information about Swift’s personal life” because clearly you have very little information as well.
In Touch has quite a cover story on them this week. Overnight hookup in John’s hotel room in Nashville and Taylor in John’s lap, with her arms around him in a recording studio, also in Nashville.

Sarah, In Touch is about as reliable about their stories than anyone on this planet. Basically In touch sucks and knows nothing about Taylor Swift and John Mayer. LOL No one knows, but more or less they are friends. I still like the cory monteith and taylor story though. LOL I don’t know why. it was in US Weekly and OK Magazine and yes OK Mag is not right on some things, but its still an awesome magazine. US Weekly is okay though. I love that rumor to tell you the truth.
But, E! Online had to ruin the rumor for me. Dang. it was fun to read though. bahahahahahaha
