“Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth: Back Together!” exclaims the site Betty Confidential.

According to the blog’s source, “Shannon and Derek decided to try again.”

It’s actually more of a nice “try” on the part of Betty Confidential.

The site’s so-called source manages to give a tidy sound bite that includes the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, and WHEN while describing HOW the couple reunited. The “insider” is quoted as saying Hough and Elizabeth “flew to New York last week for Diddy’s 40th birthday party at the Plaza and that was their first public outing together again.”

Here’s what’s true: They both were at Diddy’s party.

Here’s what’s not true: EVERYTHING ELSE.

A rep for Hough told Gossip Cop they are “not dating,” and that they’re still friends, which is WHY no one saw them kissing or anything like that at Diddy’s bash.
