Site impregnates Mariah Carey

In yet another classic from HollywoodLife, the site declares “EXCLUSIVE DETAILS! Is Mariah Carey Pregnant?”

Timeout: How can they claim “EXCLUSIVE DETAILS,” and then ask a question because they’re completely unsure about their info?

That’s like saying, “Exclusive! We Have Absolutely No Idea. Do you?”

At least that would’ve been more accurate than HollywoodLife’s story, which goes on to say, “Mariah Carey’s latest comments have us all wondering whether or not she could finally be pregnant, and HollywoodLife.com has exclusive details that definitely support the widespread theory.”

For the record, Gossip Cop isn’t “wondering,” because we checked out the pregnancy rumor and know the answer, but more about that in a moment.

The fertile minds at HollywoodLife support their pregnancy “theory” with such hard facts as (1) they didn’t see Carey drink anything at a recent party, plus (2) she told reporters at the Independent Spirit Awards, “I have a lot of new acting projects coming up… But there’s also something else very special on the way. I can’t say any more.”

Hardly a smoking gun.

Gossip Cop, however, checked with Carey’s rep, who assured us there’s “no truth” to the pregnancy rumors.

No question mark.
