Simon Cowell Defends Himself Against Steven Tyler Comments (VIDEO)

Truth rating: 10

Simon Cowell was on “Fox & Friends” this morning to promote his upcoming U.S. version of “X Factor,” but he ended up spending a chunk of time defending himself against comments made by Steven Tyler. After a clip was shown of Tyler saying that he thought Cowell was wrong to say he didn’t like country music, the former “American Idol” judge set the record straight.

“I think what we’ll do is we’ll send Steven a tape of an audition of a girl called Carrie Underwood, and if you play it back, what I said at the time, what I continue to say, she will be the most successful artist on ‘American Idol.’ And she was, Steven, a country singer.” He further explained, “When someone was good in that genre, I never had a problem.”

But that wasn’t all Cowell had to say about Tyler. When noting some of the differences between “American Idol” and “X Factor,” Cowell said vocal groups can audition and there was no upper age limit for contestants. Addressing Tyler, Cowell quipped, “Steven, even you’re not too old to apply.” What do you think of this (not so serious) feud?
