This season of “American Idol” will be the last for Simon Cowell.

Cowell said that he will be bringing his show, “The X Factor,” which he created and is a giant hit in England, to Fox next season.

Cowell acknowledged that leaving “Idol” was a tough decision, however, it was logistically difficult for him to be a judge on both programs.

While Cowell makes a reported $36 million on “Idol,” he stands to make even more money on “The X Factor,” being both the show’s creator, producer and star.
