Simon Cowell Reveals X Factor Judges and Host News; Talks Whitney Houston

Truth rating: 10

On Wednesday, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid spoke with reporters, including Gossip Cop, but wouldn’t confirm rumors that Britney Spears, Fergie, and Janet Jackson are in the running to replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.

But Reid did say the next two judges will be “two girls,” to which Cowell added, “That’s 100 percent.”

The show’s creator acknowledged a lot of people “have entered the fray,” and that he and Reid will be meeting with prospective judges, beginning next Wednesday.

Cowell noted that he’s going to stress to those interested that the show is a “big commitment.”

As for talk that Whitney Houston was being considered as a judge, Reid explained, “We love Whitney and we would have certainly considered it, but the truth is, it never quite came to that. We never actually had meetings about it. We didn’t really get that far.”

Cowell also revealed that fired host Steve Jones will definitely be replaced by two hosts — probably a man and a woman — because there’s “so much information to relay… [it's] almost impossible for one person to do.”

The two hosts will stand in different parts of the studio to make the show “more fun” and “more interesting,” said Cowell.

He also discussed his Twitter challenge of wanting the winners of “X Factor,” ‘The Voice,” and “American Idol” to compete against each other in a “musical Super Bowl,” and how he was “disappointed with the reactions from the other two shows.”

Both Reid and Cowell said the winners of the respective shows will just have to go head-to-head on the charts and at the Grammys.

“Expect the second season to be better,” assured a more humble but confident Cowell.

Geez Simon, wheres your loyalty? Come on, you and Paula are partners in crime! Britney sucks and would not make a good judge, Janet Jackson is beyond her time, no one listens to her anymore, sorry. your best bet would be Fergie. And honestly, too much information to relay? No, you just didnt like Steve. Man up, stop being so conceited, and bring back Paula!

I’m looking forward to the new season! Hopefully they can get better hosts & people who can and have enough longevity in the business to be respected as a judge.

Stupid Simon. Of all the judges last year, I think Nicole has the best background to judge. She majored in acting and musical theatre and has The Voice! It was just her first season and she was, of course, sensitive but she would have toughened out. For further testimonial of her abilities, go to youtube.com http://youtu.be/8Y-I-Dfo1rw

I became an avid fan of Nicole when I was searching for the best Ave Maria version. Hers was one of the best versions. Her performance at the Royal Variety Show last December 2011 performing Christine of The Phantom of the Opera was amazing! One of the very best, if not the best. Eat your heart out, Simon.

Guess what??????????????/ The show is not about the judges except that they should have done their jobs and not passed because they didn’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. If they weren’t strong enough they should not have taken the job. You can admire the judges in every way but when they sit in those chairs they have a different job to do. Simon was correct in letting them go….they did not do justice to the contestants.

Guess what? If you were implying to the incident about that young girl being voted out, I got news for you. Nicole didn’t vote her out. The American people did. I would have done the same.
