Simon Cowell House Burglarized As He And Family Sleep
Simon Cowell’s London home was burglarized early Friday morning as he and his family slept.
Cowell, partner Lauren Silverman, and their son Eric were all asleep at the mogul’s Holland Park estate when an alarm was triggered at 2:20 a.m. local time. The star’s bodyguard was the first to awake during the crime, but the suspect allegedly made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of property before he could be caught. The stolen possessions are said to be jewelry, including family heirlooms, and cash.
The culprit was apparently able to access Cowell’s safe after finding the vault’s key. Cowell was unaware of the incident until his bodyguard woke him. As scary as the situation was, he and his family were not physically harmed, thankfully.
Police were photographed investigating the house as a crime scene on Friday. It’s not clear if Cowell was targeted, or the victim of a random break-in. He has 24/7 security, but that was apparently not event to prevent the burglary.
Though shaken, Cowell went on to full his obligations later Friday, attending rehearsals for this weekend’s “X Factor UK,” which airs Saturday and Sunday. Stunningly, though, this was not the first break-in at the producer’s residence. As Gossip Cop reported, Cowell came face to face with a home intruder who threw a brick through his window in 2012.
Cowell and Silverman are pictured above last month. A rep declined to comment when contacted by Gossip Cop. We’ll have updates.
