Silencing Buzz of Billionaire Hiding Tiger Woods

(Us Weekly)

From yachts to posh parties to luxury hotels, Tiger Woods has been rumored to be everywhere in the weeks since a seismic sex scandal chased him into hiding. Of course, none of those “sightings” turned out to be true. Now Us Weekly is taking a stab with a cover story purporting Woods has taken shelter with a billionaire.

According to the mag, Jim Dolan, CEO of Cablevision and owner of Madison Square Garden and the New York Knicks, invited the scandalized golfer to “hide out” at his $13.5 million waterfront estate on Long Island a week after news of Woods’ dalliances broke. ”Jim reached out to Tiger,” Us quotes a “knowledgeable source” as revealing.

The same “source” insists Dolan also gave Woods use of his fleet of jets to help him stay under the radar, saying, “I know Tiger’s flown on Jim’s jet from Florida probably three times.”

Predictably, the latest “Where’s Woods?” story is being cut and pasted by the usual suspects.

Gossip Cop knows it must be difficult to keep trying to pin down someone who doesn’t want to be found, but as creative as Us Weekly’s claims are, we won’t award the mag points for accuracy.

“It is categorically false and preposterous on its face,” a spokesperson for Madison Square Garden reiterated to us about the Dolan hideout rumor. Another source within Cablevision called the story “completely not true.”

As hard as Woods is to find these days, it’s even harder to take seriously any outlets who claim to have trailed Tiger to his lair.
