Siahna Im And Ivonne Acero “Voice” Battle Video: Teens’ Performance Leads To Steal
Siahna Im and Ivonne Acero‘s battle prompted two coaches to go for the steal on Tuesday’s “The Voice.” Check out the video below!
The Team Pharrell contestants are among the youngest in the competition for season 9. They proved to be formidable contenders in the Blind Auditions, and now their coach asked them to take on The Supremes’ hit “You Keep Me Hangin’ On.” During a mentoring session with guest advisor Missy Elliott, both were encouraged to let loose.
And they certainly seemed to be having fun come showtime, giving a sassy performance that left Gwen Stefani asking, “Like, who are you?!” She went on, “You both were really excellent… I don’t know who I would pick.” Adam Levine saw room for improvement on “both sides,” but also saw a “world of potential for them.” Blake Shelton added, “This is tough, buddy.”
How did their coach feel? Pharrell told Im and Acero, “Both of you, I felt like you did a performance that was really full of feeling… There’s just so much potential on the stage right now.” But he ultimately picked 15-year-old Im as the winner!
Once the steal period opened up for 17-year-old Acero, Stefani hit her button, sending Pharrell to his feet in excitement. Shelton, however, hit his, too, and the rival stars teased each other as they tried to convince Acero to pick them as their new coach. Levine even got on stage to amusingly point out Stefani as an “angel” and Shelton as the “devil.”
In the end, Acero chose to join Team Blake, leaving Stefani stunned and Levine a tad angry. Watch the full video below!
