Sia Releases Fifty Shades of Grey Song “Salted Wound” – LISTEN HERE!
Sia’s new song, “Salted Wound,” for the Fifty Shade of Grey soundtrack has just been released. While emotional, the ballad has a haunting feel to it. Listen to the “Salted Wound” below.
Echoing elements of the film’s themes, the lyrics include, “Take a chance, it wasn’t what you know. Take my hand, and don’t let go.” And while the lyrics are mostly romantic with phrases such as “Tell her on how you feel. Give her every say she needs to hear. Give your heart,” the refrain for the song does hint at the film’s bondage and S&M, with the words “You’re safe” repeating throughout.
Sia has made been in the headlines of recent. Earlier in the month, the Australian singer, who obscures her face when performing, released the music video for her song “Elastic Heart,” and it quickly caused controversy for featuring 12-year-old Maddie Ziegler in a nude bodysuit writhing around in a cage with a half-dressed Shia LaBeouf. While some called it pedophilia, Sia stressed her “intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody.”
Sia’s “Salted Wound” joins the two other recently released tracks for the Fifty Shade of Grey soundtrack, The Weeknd’s “Earned It” and Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do.” Beyonce will also have music featured in the film, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, which is set for release right before Valentine’s Day on February 13.
