  I think if this is true, that it’s a new low for the film industry. The film industry is not meant to be about pornography, it’s meant to be acting. It doesn’t classify as acting if the actors are engaging in real sex, it classifies as porn. Any actor who would agree to this is clearly in dire need for attention. Also Shia Labeouf, looks like he is in need of a good shower, I imagine he smells bad. I don’t know who would desire to watch him have sex on camera, the mental image makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

What’s next to see poop actually come out in a slow action shot , or a real murder , or beastiality performed for real? I don’t mind sex scenes like those in ‘Lust, Caution’ (they were choreographed but, man, this looks like real stuff) or Binoche and Irons in ‘Damage’.(Shia does not a have a body like Irons at that time, seriously, who wants to see that?). If there are real sex scenes in this movie, it will get restricted in many countries. This is not the first time something like this has been done. The movie Nine Songs, depicted non simulated sex scenes and it was restricted in most countries. The fact is the majority of society agrees that scenes like these are in bad taste. If you want to watch pornography there are many out there to watch, but most film goers are there for the story not for sex scenes. Non simulated sex does not change anything about the film. The movie Shame, is a perfect example of how simulated sex works just as good as the real thing in getting the ideas of the film across to an audience. This idea idea of shooting a real sex scene is purely for shock value and publicity. If these shots are going to be filmed out of focus, then why the need to film real sex between two actors, in the first place? Your answer for everything seems to be “Because it’s Lars Von Trier,” well good luck getting the Motion Picture Association of America, or any other country to agree that because it’s Lars Von Trier, it’s all okay.

  I might be opening up a can of worms here, but I find it interesting, that Expendables 2 opened and it has all these actions stars in it and it has tons of violence in it but no one makes a big deal about that but having sex on film just pushes everybody’s buttons. The film will probably be rated NC-17. So it probably will not be in many theaters and many will not see it, but why is it okay to have tons of violent acts that sometimes contribute to violence in real life and one real sex-scene on film is so degrading? The move is called Nymphomanic, so it must be dealing with women’s sexuality. So Lars wants real sex instead of fake sex, all actors generally want to be as real as possible. You know this film will be watched because of the reality of the scene. How do you think Fifty Shades of Grey will be filmed? It is nothing but non-stop sex with a bit of a storyline thrown in but I bet that will be a big hit, yet because it does not have real sex in it, that is ok. So you can have many meaningless faked sex scenes in a movie and that is fine, but real sex with a story behind it is degrading. I guess it is apples and oranges.

This doesnt surprise me, not when we have MTV filming shows where our kids are beating each other up, getting drunk and wasted, having babies at 15, screaming like maniacs at each other…There is no joy in the world of entertainment anymore. When I grew up we watched Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, I love lucy, Dick Van Dyke, Leave it to Beaver, Sonny and Cher, Carol Burnett Show. Those days are gone. The kids watching this garbage will be in congress one day and this is what they will know. This society has changed for the worse in so many ways, there arent enough hours in the day to go into it, all I know is before the internet and this trash on tv, kids played in the streets, had dinner with their family without an electronic device in their hands keeping from enjoying their family, and people enjoyed life. Now all you hear of is suicide, kids bullying each other, having sex, the list goes on. I’d trade all this technology in a heart beat to bring back the good ole days.   I think that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie will be as pathetic as fifty shades of grey the book, but pathetic or not I highly doubt the actors will be engaging in real sexual situations. The violence that is depicted in movies is also simulated, if we are to go on your idea that actors want to be a real as they can be, then should we hand an actor a gun with real bullets and tell them them we are doing it for real? No, I don’t think so. I am far from a prude and I have no problems with sex scenes in movies, but do I want to watch a two hour film with actors who are really having sex? No I don’t, just as I don’t want to watch an action film where people are really being blown up or shot to death. We have to draw the line somewhere as to what we class as socially acceptable. How far are we really willing to go in order of shock value and box office numbers. How much of themselves are actors willing to sell just to make a buck. What more do we gain from a movie if we know the actors a really having sex? All the emotions that go along with the sex scene are still being scripted and directed. None of the emotions are true emotions because the actor is simply saying the lines that are written on paper. So please tell me why we need to show two people really engaging in sex, does it really add to the story or are we simply trying to cause controversy. You can have a film called The Nymphomaniac, be realistic by having your actors do what their job actually is, which is acting. Actors are not porn stars it’s not in their job description to be expected to have sex on camera, it is their job to realistically portray a character by ACTING. If you want to make porn you need a porn star if you want to make a film you need an actor.

  I don’t understand all the fuss. The way movies do sex scenes right now it already looks like the actors are really having intercourse, so really this isn’t going to look that different than the way it looks now. If Shia LaBeouf feels like actually engaging in the act makes it a more authentic experience then bully for him, he’s the actor, he’s a consenting adult and I guess that’s just his technique for doing a better job. But considering all the nudity and violence which are already in movies I really don’t get why people are upset that they’re taking this step – it really isn’t a big one.
