Shia LaBeouf’s Donald Trump Live Stream With Jaden Smith: ‘He Will Not Divide Us’
The actor mounted a camera on the wall of the museum on Thursday, the day of Trump’s inauguration, and is inviting the public to look into it and repeat the phrase “he will not divide us” for as long as they wish. The first participant is Jaden Smith, who’s been standing in front of the lens and delivering the line since 9am as LaBeouf looks on. At the time of this writing, Smith has not moved away from the camera.
The exhibit will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for the next four years, or the duration of Trump’s presidency. The official website for the art installment, which LaBeouf organized with his collaborators Rönkkö & Turner, explains that the mantra “he will not divide us” is meant as “a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participant and the community.”
LaBeouf has been focusing more lately on offbeat performance art pieces than acting. His most recent projects have included allowing people to drive him to any destination around the country, and watching all of his movies in reverse-chronological order. Check out the live stream at hewillnotdivide.us, which you can watch for (at least) the next four years.
