Sherri Shepherd Threatened With Rape on Twitter, Files Police Report

Sherri Shepherd has had it with online bullies – especially since one threatened on Twitter Wednesday to rape her.

“The View” co-host received a tweet from someone by the name “DaCloneKiller,” who wrote, “somebody should drag u in a back alley and rape you.”

Shepherd, not surprisingly, was quite taken aback by the disturbing message, and responded, “THIS IS A THREAT & I’M PISSED.”

“You think I should be raped in a back alley? Let’s see if the police agree w you & I took a pic of your tweet,” she continued.

The actress and comedienne added, “I am going 2 file a police report 4U threatening me. And so help me God, when I find out where U live, charges will follow.”

Shepherd went on to lament the unfortunate trend of bullies using social media to anonymously harass others, largely without any repercussions.

“This type of bullying is one of the reasons children are killing themselves b/c there’s no consequences for the bully(s),” she wrote.

Amazingly, Shepherd’s outrage led her to receive another group of vile, expletive-laden messages from strangers, some of which she retweeted.

But Shepherd wasn’t deterred, and promptly went to the police station.

“Just returned from filing a police report for this online harrassment nonsense,” she tweeted a few hours later. “I will be pursuing this legally.”

A rep for “The View” co-host tells Gossip Cop, “Local law enforcement is  involved as well as corporate legal and security departments. This matter is being taken very seriously.”

    Sindeelou, are you the one that sent the tweet? If so shame on you. I can’t stand any of the view ladies. I can’t stand them so much that this is the first year I skipped watching dancing with the stars until Sheri got the boot. That’s what you do when u don’t like a celeb… Ignore them, don’t watch their shows and don’t follow them on twitter. It’s simple.

    I’m glad that she reported the tweet to the police. I understand that celebs are asking for trouble when they join social media outlets like Twitter, but to say something like that is just terrible.

    The person that said it to her probably thought that she would never see it, so no harm would be done. Not were they wrong.

    I like her but I agree – it wasn’t a threat. It was a nasty comment and maybe it counts as bullying, and there could be some way to charge this guy. But it was not a threat.
    A threat would have been “I will drag….” or something like this.
    No excuse for the guy, but a THREAT it is not!

    This is hilarious…really. Sherri is really the bully here and is now playing the victim. She bullied the rapper Lil’ Kim on her looks and her surgery. Lil’ Kim has said nothing to this woman. Lil’ Kim does NOT bring up her surgery so what makes it okay for Sherri? Lil’ Kim doesn’t bring up Sherri’s weight! As some of you may know, Twitter is divided up into fan bases. There are the Lil’ Kim fans, the Madonna fans, the and the Lady Gaga fans. We are known to defend our idols with no hesitation. Sherri should have kept her comments to herself. If she can’t take the heat, why dish it out??

    And what was said WAS NOT A THREAT. A threat is when someone actually says “I’m gonna drag you to an alley & rape you.” …. what was stated were CLEARLY open thoughts and opinions. She has no valid argument.

    Don’t give this “that’s a thought” Do you go up to people on the streets and say that? No? Than don’t do that on Twitter. Saying someone should be raped is a lot more serious and disgusting than talking about plastic surgery.

    Not fan of hers either. It was an ugly thing to say and shouldn’t have been tweeted to ANYONE. Having said that, it wasn’t a threat against her. It was just a very ugly comment. I’m sure the police told her there was no basis for filing any charges and this will die away very quickly. Shepherd won’t share that bit, of course. She’s just a very silly woman with very limited intellect and talent. I watch The View in spite of her, not because of her. It will be a happy day for me when they replace her.

    I am retired law enforcement and can say that making such a comment is indictictve of either someone contemplating such an act or calling out for someone else too; in any case it is concerning and I’d construe it as a threat and be willing to investigate it.
    I don’t like the View, the participants, any of them, so I don’t watch it, but when encountering this artical, I am concerned for Ms. Shepard and agree with her action.

AND LOOK AT THAT MAN WHO KILLED CATS & WAS TAPING EVERY THING & POSTING IT ON FACEBOOK HE WAS BEING REPORTED FOR 2 YEARS & HAD OVER 72 FACEBOOK ACCOUNTS & FACEBOOK DID NOTHING ABOUT IT & FINALLY ENDED UP KILLING HIS PARTNER & VIDEO TAPING THAT & POSTING IT ON FACEBOOK.
