Sherri Shepherd’s First Husband Now Fighting For Custody Of Their Son
Sherri Shepherd’s first husband is now fighting for custody of their nine-year-old son as “The View” co-host fights her estranged second husband for custody of their unborn surrogate baby.
According to court documents filed in April, Shepherd’s ex, Jeffrey Tarpley, is challenging Shepherd for custody of Jeffrey Jr., claiming the boy is suffering from “neglect.” A judge found no cause for a temporary emergency order, which Tarpley requested, and has instead scheduled a hearing for July to resolve the issue.
Tarpley alleges that Shepherd’s busy career has forced her to give “primary responsibility for our minor child to unskilled nannies,” and, as a result, their son has been allegedly deprived of “access to basic educational needs, a nurturing and loving environment, and care.” Shepherd has fired back, saying in her own legal filing that Tarpley is an absentee father who is unfit for custody.
Meanwhile, the TV personality and her second husband, Lamar Sally, are entering a divorce fight that’s been complicated by Sally’s fight for sole physical and legal custody of an unborn child the couple is currently having via surrogate. Gossip Cop will have updates.
