The Disney Channel is pulling two episodes of “Shake It Up” after Demi Lovato called them out for joking about eating disorders.

As Gossip Cop reported, Lovato was furious with her former employer for airing material that seemed to make light of the issue, quoting a character as saying, “I could just eat you up… well, if I ate.”

“Dear Disney Channel, EATING DISORDERS ARE NOT SOMETHING TO JOKE ABOUT,” tweeted the singer-actress.

Now Disney is taking action.

The official PR account for Disney Channel tweeted at Lovato, “We hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them.”

Disney added, “It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!”

Lovato famously left her hit Disney show “Sonny With a Chance” to deal with an eating disorder and other serious problems.

She’s since been vocal about the body image issues plaguing young women.

What do you think about Disney’s response to Lovato’s outrage?

You go Demi! Whether it was meant to make fun of eating disorders or not, it certainly did regardless. Disney has to watch what they say and put in their shows because EVERYTHING effects young viewers. That joke made it seem okay “not to eat” like it was just some joke when that is a huge issue these days. Not to mention it also true what demi said about the Disney star being so thin. Why cant they just have normal sized average girls? They’re sending the wrong message and demi had to go through ALOT so she deserves to have her say.
