VIDEO: Seth Rogen Thanks Amy Pascal For “Having The Balls” To Make The Interview
Seth Rogen gave a big shout-out to embattled Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal at The Interview premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, thanking her for “having the balls” to make the controversial movie. His declaration came as Pascal finds herself and her company in the middle of an embarrassing hacking scandal, which has included the leak of emails between Pascal and others featuring unflattering comments about everyone from Hollywood stars to President Obama.
Speaking to the audience from the stage before the movie screened, Rogen announced, “Before we start this, honestly, we just want to thank Amy Pascal for having the balls to make this f*cking thing!” He also joked that part of the movie was “boring,” in case some people in the crowd wanted to use those moments to run out for drinks.
Sony restricted media access to Thursday’s premiere amid the hacking situation. Earlier in the day, Pascal and producer Scott Rudin apologized for a series of “insensitive” racially offensive jokes about Obama in a 2013 email correspondence. There has been speculation that the Sony hack is tied to North Korea’s anger over the plot of The Interview, in which Rogen and Franco’s characters attempt to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
