Asked how he’ll react when he hears his name introduced as the new host, the “Saturday Night Live” alum said, “I think I’ll go into a full white-hot panic. We’ll probably have security guards behind me to make sure I can’t make tracks quickly out the other direction.”

As for whether he’ll use his “Weekend Update” persona on the show, Meyers shared, “I promise to be incredulous about current events.”

He added, “I would love to have a long list of politicians coming on the show. Someone like Hillary Clinton. Someone like Chris Christie. It would be very interesting to talk to him right now.”

“Late Night with Seth Meyers” premieres Monday, February 24 at 12:30 a.m. on NBC.
