Selena Gomez Ditched Justin Bieber For Oscars Bash to “Boost Career”?

Selena Gomez’s solo appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday was cause enough for HollywoodLife to sound the alarms.

According to the webloid, Gomez’s beau Justin Bieber was MIA not because there’s “trouble in paradise,” but because the actress-singer’s team convinced her to use the event as a strategic career move.

Wait, what?!

“Selena’s camp doesn’t want Selena to be known as ‘Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend’ rather than an actress and a singer or entertainer,” a so-called “source” tells the site.

Of course, there’s another accurate explanation for Bieber’s absence.

The singer actually had to spend Sunday night in the studio, working on his next album.

“There is time to play…and then there are times to work hard and get my fans an album,” Bieber even tweeted on Sunday.

“until then. #STUDIO #BELIEVE,” he added.

A source tells Gossip Cop that claims of Gomez being told to party alone are simply “not true.”

    Justin should be lucky that he got help from others, (Selena, Usher and Scooter) because he could not survive it on his own.

    Selena got to the top by herself, without any help of others. Her mother does only give her advice and manage her business.

    Those roles was giving to her by the directors and she really fought for them. Because she CAN act.
