REPORT: Selena Gomez Developing The Sky Is Everywhere Movie

Selena Gomez has reportedly optioned Jandy Nelson’s novel The Sky Is Everywhere for film development.

The actress would play Lennie Walker, a teen band geek suddenly balancing emotions and two love interests following the sudden death of her older sister.

Gomez would also produce.

The potential project, which has not been confirmed, was reported first by Deadline.

Gomez’s Disney Channel series, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” ended earlier this month after more than 100 episodes.

    I like selena gomez better than most of the other disney stars. she is a much more talented than the other ones and I think she looks sweet.

    I love this book beyond belief and I really like Selena but she does not suit the role. She is not Lennie

    This is an amazing book but Selena is NOT Lennie Walker! Lennie is grieving beyond belief and I don’t think Selena Gomez can pull that off. She doesn’t suit this role, she isn’t even close to Lennie’s adorable band geek character. I like Selena, but this is NOT her.

    Pretty pumped. I agree that Selena isn’t Lennie… but it’s hard to fit ANY actress as Lennie the way we picture her. I think Selena is adorable, looks around the right age, has the right hair and features, and could pull it off. I’m psyched to see this book become a movie, though! YES!

    OMFG! I read this book after it first came out and I kinda forgot about it until I was writing a book list for my friend. And I was all like “Hey, it’s gonna be a movie! Cool!” Yeah, until I saw Selena Gomez was gonna be in it. And every other freaking book that they’re making into movies that I’ve read!!!!! Go Home Selena!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrr.
