Selena Gomez And Demi Lovato NOT Hitting “Rock Bottom Together,” Despite Report
Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are NOT hitting “rock bottom together,” nor are they being urged to go to rehab, despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can bust the story, which has little basis in reality.
The claims can be found in this week’s Life & Style, which alleges Gomez and Lovato’s “close relationship has grown dangerous” because they’ve “been drinking and partying so much, their friends are desperately trying to get both of them into rehab.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “They are fueling each other’s partying by enabling each other. None of their friends know what to do, but they definitely need help.”
Life & Style fills out its story with sordid details about Gomez and Lovato’s alleged behavior. Gomez is described as “drunk much of the time,” with Lovato supposedly “encouraging her.” The magazine’s tipster says, “All of Selena’s and Demi’s friends knew that when they started hanging out again, they’d pull each other even further down. They’re careening toward rock bottom and need rehab,” and adds, “It’s like they’ve both decided to hold hands and jump off a cliff.”
The only thing “dangerous” here is Life & Style’s “reporting.” It’s actually alarming that a tabloid would take someone like Lovato, who has been so openly proud of her sobriety and claim she’s fallen off the wagon, and Gomez, who has called out these kinds of lies. But Gossip Cop knows what’s REALLY going on.
Back in June, Life & Style falsely claimed Gomez was being “forced in rehab” for a supposed alcohol addiction. Then, earlier this month, sister publication In Touch wrongly alleged Lovato’s partying was “out of control” again. Gossip Cop debunked both stories when they were first published.
But now that Lovato and Gomez have recently renewed their friendship (see photo above), Life & Style decided to combine the two angles. The new claims, however, are just as false as the previous ones. Now they’re just all the more galling, too.
