CLAIM: Selena Gomez Will Run Back to Justin Bieber If Spring Breakers Flops

Every time we think HollywoodLife can’t get any worse, the webloid surprises us in new and ridiculous ways.

Jay Penske’s logic-challenged site now claims, “Selena Gomez Will Take Justin Bieber Back If Spring Breakers Flops.”

Huh?

According to the blog’s “exclusive” report, Gomez’s “self-esteem might be extremely low” if her upcoming movie does poorly, which could lead her to “turn back to the Biebs in her time of trouble.”

A so-called “source” dredged up by HollywoodLife explains, “Selena loved being in the celebrity scene when she was with Justin, it was just a completely different level.”

If Spring Breakers underperforms, adds the webloid’s source, Gomez will be “back to the drawing board.”

“Feeling down in the dumps like this could open the door for a reconciliation with Justin,” says HollywoodLife.

This is seriously what now passes for a post on HollywoodLife.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the sloppy blog’s recent “reporting” about Bieber and Gomez.

HollywoodLife falsely speculated that Bieber was dating a “mystery brunette,” wrongly insisted that Taylor Swift wrote “22″ about him, and made up a romance between Gomez and Josh Hutcherson.

These recent flops, of course, are just the latest examples of the site’s years-long butchering of the Gomez-Bieber story, during which HollywoodLife has proven itself to be incapable of doing much beyond gross sensationalism and wrongheaded speculation.

It’s sad that a site claiming to be about “celebrity news” is so embarrassingly clueless about some of the world’s biggest celebrities.

In any case, this newest “story” is just more evidence that HollywoodLife will print just about anything to get attention.

Selena Gomez was famous way, way before she and Justin Bieber began dating.

That’s reality, which is why it must seem foreign to HollywoodLife.

Even more importantly, how insulting is it to women that HollywoodLife assumes that IF Gomez’s new movie fails to become a hit, she’ll immediately run back into the arms of her ex-boyfriend in order to cope?

It’s this kind of nonsense that’s made the site an unreliable mess of spin and empty theorizing.

A source close to Gomez tells Gossip Cop the HollywoodLife report is “way off base.”

    Don’t even try and bullshit GC. Selena’s fame even before Justin was birdlime slim to anyone who watched Disney. Since then her fame HAS sky rocketed just from dating him. That happens to alot of celebs who date more famous people. Everyone can see Bieber is more famous. Weither people like him or not. “A source close to gomez” what corse exactly. Y’all always claim sources but those sources are hair as ketchup as the sources Hollywood life tmz and other blogs have. Of COURSE her team would call it a lie. Even if you did speak to them. Which I doubt. All I know is you can already rea dthe critic reviews for the movie and the ones I read weren’t good. Especially not on rotten apples. She may not “run” back to him but didnt she do the same when her tour and album came out when y’all said she dumped him then too? Didnt she go back? Yup. Fact IS Fame and money run Hollywood. Everyone wants to have te most of it. Celebs will do what they can to stay on too including use eachother to do it. It’s not a secret. She may not go crying on his shoulder but he is one young star whose famous for who she dates and Music more so than actually film and other work. Taylor swift is her friend for a reason I suppose.

    the main point is that Hollywood life and similar sites have been proven wrong over and over yet some still take their reports as gospel. If you hate either Justin or Selena you will chose to believe the gossip. Why not be for the truth for a change?

    Regardless of whether I agree with your comments on Selena’s fame or lack there of, I have to say, this site is refreshing in your approach to reporting. At least there is some logic incorporated. Some (no, all) of the other sites bewilder me in their conclusions and assumptions. They make no sense whatsoever.

    Selena was famous but only to 9 year old Disney fans. Dating Justin was the only way she became well known. Every adult I know says they didn’t know who she was until she was dating Justin. He has an older fan base and I really think Selena manipulated that to get out of Disney. Unfortunately all the reviews I’m reading about this movie say it sucks so I hope Justin is smart enough to not take her back when she comes crawling back on her hands and knees.

    selena may have been famous before justin but she was hardly relevant, her fan base shot up ever since she began to date him, without him she’d be nowhere! she wouldn’t have gotten any of those movie roles and she would hardly be talked about, basically after disney she would’ve been forgotten about, like seriously when do you read something about selena which isn’t anything to do with justin? exactly!
