Selena Gomez Victim Of More HollywoodLife “Games”
HollywoodLife continues to spread lies about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. Gossip Cop will continue to call out HollywoodLife’s lies, because HollywoodLife’s lies keep infecting the rumor mill, misleading fans and outlets gullible enough to believe and repeat what HollywoodLife says.
On Monday, Gossip Cop pointed out that HollywoodLife was treating Gomez like a prop, rather than a person. We said this after the webloid giddily and wrongly interpreted Gomez’s recent attendance at a baby shower for Yael Braun and a dinner with her former co-star David Henrie as instances of Gomez sending a message to her on-and-off boyfriend Bieber. There was no truth to any of it.
On Tuesday, in typical HollywoodLife fashion, the site completely reversed itself while also misinterpreting a new Gomez action. The actress-singer had posted an Instagram message reading, “I am in competition with no one. I have no desire to play the game of being better than anyone. I am simply trying to be better than the person I was yesterday.” There’s no evidence that her words have anything to do with Bieber or relationships. But that didn’t stop HollywoodLife from pumping out more nonsense!
“Selena Gomez Done Playing ‘The Game’ — Finally Over Justin Bieber?” shrieks a new HollywoodLife headline. The site goes on to say, “Selena Gomez has played ‘the game’ long enough — and she’s ready to move forward! That’s the message she’s sending with her new Instagram picture, at least. Has she finally moved on from Justin Bieber for good?”
Earth to HollywoodLife: She was not playing a ‘game’ in the first place. The only game was HollywoodLife’s. Every day, the site twists everything Gomez (or Bieber, for that matter) does into some kind of sensational romantic gesture. Whatever Gomez had posted on Instagram, HollywoodLife would have interpreted it as a message to or about Bieber. Anything to stoke controversy. Maybe HollywoodLife is still bitter about the time when Gomez pointed out that what the site says about her is “never true.”
