‘More and more stupider’ is not grammatically correct. You should either say something like ‘it gets stupider and stupider’ or ‘is becoming more stupid’. If you think the media’s getting stupider, try reading through some of the comments people make on the stories. They did not say in the article that it was huge news. Someone obviously saw the girl at the hospital and some tabloid is bound to make up the craziest rumors that they can so this seems to be more of a way to keep rumors from getting out of hand and less of an’oh my goodness that poor girl’ kind of story
