Selena Gomez Did NOT Cry Or Throw Fit At Taylor Swift Birthday Party, Despite Report
Selena Gomez did not cry or throw a “fit” at Taylor Swift’s 25th birthday, despite a widespread and wholly inaccurate report. Gossip Cop has spent hours fact-checking the story, talking to various sources, and can now exclusively report that the incident never happened. The rumor was started by Us Weekly, which has gotten a number of Gomez stories dead wrong.
According to the latest tale from the tabloid, “Gomez got emotional about Justin Bieber” at Swift’s birthday party inside her New York apartment, while other celebrities like Beyonce and Jay Z, Charli XCX, Nick Jonas and Olivia Culpo, and Ansel Elgort, among others, chowed down on pizza and sushi. The magazine claims, “She shouted, ‘No one understands me! My boyfriend doesn’t even understand me,’” which allegedly prompted a befuddled stare from Sam Smith. But it’s just not true. Gomez did not blurt that out nor did she have a “fit” or cry.
Other partygoers there didn’t see or hear the alleged outburst, and a rep for Gomez tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “There is not one ounce of truth to it.” Of course, Us Weekly has been wrong, very wrong about Gomez before. The tabloid inaccurately claimed she dated Austin Mahone, hooked up with Ed Sheeran, was in an “icy” feud with Swift, and was going to tour with Bieber. It looks the tabloid got busted again exaggerating about Gomez.
