Selena Gomez Producing Show For Lifetime With Kevin Spacey
The scripted drama series is inspired by Gomez’s life as a young Hollywood star, but it not autobiographical. The proposed show will revolve around a fictionalized version of Gomez, and the trusted friends she relies on to navigate Hollywood. The project does not yet have a writer, and it’s believed Gomez will not be in the series.
The actress-singer, however, will executive produce alongside Spacey and Dana Brunetti, as well as her mom, Mandy Teefey. No title has been announced. And as the pilot is only in development, there’s no guarantee the network will picked it up.
The news comes just two weeks after it was announced Gomez would be producing a potential show for Freeform about a Latina teen who is determined to become successful despite growing up in a poverty-stricken Los Angeles neighborhood. In addition, Gomez is also producing a Netflix series adaptation of the book 13 Reasons Why Not. Teefey is also involved with both of those offerings.
As for her music career, Gomez is set to begin her “Revival World Tour” on May 6. As Gossip Cop has reported, she will travel across the globe for 50 concerts slated to run through August. What Gomez will do after that is anyone’s guess, as it seems the sky is the limit.
