‘Glee’ Cuts Chord Overstreet, Promotes Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr.

The “Glee” turnover has begun.

Weeks after series creator Ryan Murphy revealed that he’d be replacing cast members in coming seasons, Chord Overstreet has reportedly not had his option renewed for Season 3.

Meanwhile, Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr. were upgraded to series regulars, according to TV Line.

The site reports that Overstreet’s Sam Evans character could pop up again as a guest star.

Last night, the actor tweeted, “well it’s been a good yr too bad its over, time for summer and starting fresh.”

He added later, “i have the coolest fans hands down!!!! i love you all!!”

Criss and Shum tweet frequently, but neither has acknowledged the news so far.

    But Harry Shum doesn’t sing. At least Chord has a decent voice. Are they just going to forget about the Mercedes/Sam plot started at the finale?

    No! NO! NOOO! Not Sam…….we loved Sam! Soooo cute, and sings well! If Glee now cuts Finn, I am going to have to reconsider watching one of my favourite shows. I guess they miscalculated on the Sam storyline, with him looking after his younger siblings in a motel room. But you know, lots of kids are in that position or are raising themselves at a young age…..so it might have been interesting to see how they handled this situation. And there was the Sam/Mercedes storyline that just got started. Too, too cruel.
