Sean Young Wants “Apology” From The Academy Following Her Oscars Arrest

Sean Young is now asking for a “public apology,” hours after being arrested at an Oscars party.

On Sunday, the Blade Runner actress was placed under citizen’s arrest at the Governors Ball — the Academy Awards’ official after-party — and then booked for investigation of misdemeanor battery after she slapped a security guard.

Today, Young is lashing out at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, as well as trying to clear her name.

Young, who was on “Celebrity Rehab,” posted on Facebook “that I was sober, extremely well behaved.”

She says she received “bruises” on her arms after allegedly being manhandled by a guard who “went postal on me” outside the party.

Young further claims the ”Academy’s very stupid lawyer recommended a ‘private person’s arrest’ and I have grounds for a lawsuit,” but instead she says she simply wants “a public apology.”

The Ace Ventura: Pet Detective star makes no reference, however, to trying to crash the Oscars’ official bash.

The Academy said in a statement, “There was an incident with Ms. Young outside the Academy’s Governors Ball,” noting, “It was not the Academy who pressed charges.”

Sad case of a has-been actress!
    Pity.

A citizen’s arrest seems to be a bit extreme. Not even sure how one would go about doing that. I would have just let her go and call the cops to come sort it out, that is if it was really necessary.

If she did slap someone then she deserves some kind of punishment. Too many people think they are above the law.

Her accounts of what happened seem muddled and paranoid. She tried to get into a party she didn’t have an invite for and turned agressive when refused – I’m not surprised they felt they had to restrain her – she couldn’t run around attacking people at a big event.

Remember her cray-cray act, trying to get cast in the Batman sequel? Turns out it wasn’t a one-time thing.

And too many people don’t know the law. The security guard put his hand on her which is considered the first strike and she has every right to defend herself. A citizens arrest needs to be entirely legal before happening, hence why you don’t hear about them that often because lawsuits are all too common. Security is there for one reason and that is to observe and report. If he was a body guard, that would be different because she would have to pose a threat to the person being protected; security, again, can’t do anything.

I don’t know what her problem is. She seems to think she can do what ever she pleases. Having bad manners just isn’t becoming on a mature woman. She is llabeled as a trouble maker from years back. She can’t go anywhere without causing a bit of a attitude. It,s sad she has put a gap between her and most people in Hollywood. So she will need to drink some of her own poison. So sad.

There is something terribly sad about this story. I read somewhere that she was just hanging around outside hoping to take pictures of the celebrities. Im not familiar with the legalities, but I imagine these affairs have to keep pretty strictly to the guest list or they would be overrun by eager fans.

Sean Young is such a sad case.

How sad. Just watched No Way Out the other night. She had great promise. Too bad someone didn’t take her in hand and get her the rehab and therapy she needed early on. A wasted life.
