Scott Pippen and Larsa Pippen are divorcing after nearly 20 years of marriage. The NBA icon filed for divorce in Florida earlier this week.
The Pippens married in 1997. They have four children together: Scottie Jr., Justin, Sophia and Preston. Their life was showcased on “Real Housewives of Miami,” on which Larsa appeared as a main cast member in season 1. She and some of the kids have also appeared on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” as Larsa is one of Kim Kardashian’s best friends.
It’s unclear when or why the couple split. They last attended an event together in September, supporting Sophia as she participated in a New York Fashion Week event for kids. At the time, both stars were still wearing their wedding rings.
Neither has mentioned the breakup on social media. Just a few days ago, Larsa posted a photo of “#teampippen” on Instagram, but while she was pictured with their four kids in Europe, Scottie was not featured. It seems he was last featured on Larsa’s Instagram nearly two months ago, when she wrote, “Love is in the air.”
As of now, her bio still says, in part, that she’s an “NBA wife,” while his still notes he’s a “husband.” Scottie last posted about Larsa more than three months ago, in celebration of their anniversary. “Happy anniversary baby! Loved you from day one.,” he wrote at the time.
This will be the second divorce for Scottie, who was previously wed to Karen McCollum from 1988 to 1990. Together they have a son named Antron. Scottie also has two additional children from other relationships. Gossip Cop will update if a statement on the Pippens’ divorce is released. The couple is pictured above in March.
UPDATE: A rep for Larsa says in a statement, “After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage. Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect. She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family.”
A statement from Scottie’s spokesperson reads, “This is a very difficult time for Mr. Pippen. He is hopeful that the divorce will be swift and amicable. We are respecting his request to protect his privacy and the privacy of his children during the dissolution of marriage proceedings.”
