Scott Weiland “I’m Not Dead” Merchandise Still For Sale
Scott Weiland’s line of “I’m Not Dead” merchandise is still for sale in the wake of his death.
As Gossip Cop reported, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota on Thursday. While his management has said he died in his sleep, he may have suffered cardiac arrest. There was also cocaine found in his vicinity, and his band mate Tommy Black was arrested for drug possession on Friday.
While the official cause of Weiland’s death is still pending, his “I’m Not Dead” clothing has taken on a tragic new meaning. A search of Amazon shows Weiland’s personal brand page is currently still selling pieces with the “I’m Not Dead And Not For Sale” design, which also features his picture. It’s available on t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, and hoodies for both men and women.
Pending on the item’s style, prices range from $18.37 to $61.00. Since Weiland’s passing, a number of listings for the merchandise have appeared on Ebay. There’s also various clothing for sale on the site that feature “RIP Scott Weiland.”
In 2011, Weiland published a memoir called Not Dead & Not For Sale. The title was a take on his lifestyle: the repeated false rumors of his death due to drug addiction and his commitment to not selling out over the course of his music career. The description notes that after the end of Stone Temple Pilots, “it was Weiland who emerged as the emblem of rock star excess, with his well-publicized drug busts and trips to rehab.”
It continues, “Weiland has since made a series of stunning comebacks, fronting the supergroup Velvet Revolver, releasing solo work, and reuniting with Stone Temple Pilots. He has prevailed as a loving, dedicated father, as well as a business-savvy artist whose well of creativity is far from empty.”
Sadly, no one knew what was to come just four short years later. The cover the book can be seen below.
