Scott Weiland Death: Cocaine Found In Tour Bus Bedroom, Bandmate Tommy Black Arrested
Scott Weiland seemingly had been using cocaine right before his death with his bandmate Tommy Black, who was arrested on Friday for felony possession of the drug. Police sources says cocaine was discovered in the same tour bus bedroom where Weiland was found dead on Thursday, as well as in Black’s sleeping quarters. Black is a guitarist for the band Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota. While his management initially said he died in his sleep, dispatchers received a 911 call that Weiland had suffered a heart attack. That would not be inconsistent with using cocaine.
As noted before by Gossip Cop, Weiland struggled with substance abuse for most of his career and had several stints in rehab as well as drug and alcohol-related arrests. Weiland, who used to be the frontman for the Stone Temples Pilots and Velvet Revolver, was in Bloomington for a concert. His wife Jamie Wachtel maintains that the singer had given up drugs and been clean for some time, but sources tell Gossip Cop he was allegedly still using.
Gossip Cop will provide updates on the situation as we gather more information.
