Scott Stapp of Creed: I’m Homeless & Broke — Watch Heartbreaking Video
Scott Stapp, the lead singer of Creed, says that he’s broke and homeless in a shocking new video he posted to Facebook on Wednesday. In the clip, Stapp reveals that he can’t afford food or gas, and is currently staying at a Holiday Inn after spending weeks living in his truck.
There’s a LOT of ground covered in the very sad video, but in it, Stapp dismisses rumors that his addiction issues are to blame for his current situation, declaring that he’s “as sober as can be” and regularly proves it with drug tests. Even so, he claims his wife, who has filed to divorce him, is attempting to get him committed to a treatment facility for supposed mental health and substance abuse issues.
Stapp traces his troubles to a comprehensive audit of his business and personal finances that revealed “a lot of money” has allegedly been stolen from him or withheld from royalties he was owed. The rocker believes he’s the victim of large-scale theft. “That’s when all hell began to break loose,” he says in the video. “There are people that have taken advantage and stolen money from me, and they’re trying to discredit me, [and] slander me.”
Among his heartbreaking admissions is that he had to go to the emergency room after not having enough money for food. It’s a truly stunning video. Watch it below, and tell us what you think.
