Scarlett Johansson is set to star in a Broadway revival of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” in 2013.
The actress, who won a Tony Award for her performance in 2010′s “A View From the Bridge,” will play Maggie the Cat in the production, according to the New York Times.
Jeremy Renner, Johansson’s co-star in The Avengers, is reportedly among the actors being considered for the role of Maggie’s husband Brick, as is Star Trek star Chris Pine.
Casting has not been officially confirmed.
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” written by Tennessee Williams, has already had two recent Broadway revivals, with Ashley Judd and Anika Noni Rose playing Maggie.
Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman starred in the iconic 1958 movie version.
