The Voice Winner Season 8 2015

“The Voice” announced its new winner on Tuesday’s season 8 finale! Get all the results here and watch the winning moment below!

As Gossip Cop reported, part one of the finale on Monday featured the four finalists competing in three rounds, one of which required them to sing their would-be winner’s single. For the first time in the history of the NBC competition, two artists, Meghan Linsey and Joshua Davis, performed original songs they wrote themselves. Each artist also sang a duet with their respective coach.

There was Blake Shelton’s singer Linsey, who previously opened for him on tour. Adam Levine had his hopes pinned on Davis. And Pharrell had double the chance for his first-ever win via Koryn Hawthorne or Sawyer Fredericks. But it was up America to determine who had THE “voice.” So, how did the vote turn out?

FOURTH Place: Koryn Hawthorne
THIRD Place: Joshua Davis
SECOND Place: Meghan Linsey
WINNER: Sawyer Fredericks

As Gossip Cop reported, Fredericks was the frontrunner throughout the entire season, which began airing in February. At just 16, he’s now the show’s youngest winner ever. “Please,” written specifically for him by Ray LaMontagne will be released as his first single, and Fredericks’ prize also includes a recording contract. While there’s no tangible reward for Pharrell, this is a huge victory for him after only being on the show as a coach for two seasons.

This is the third time Shelton has finished in the runner-up position, following season 6 with Jake Worthington and season 1 with Dia Frampton. Levine previously placed third during season 2 with Tony Lucca, as well as in season 6 with Christina Grimmie. Last season, in December, Levine was also the third-place coach with Chris Jamison.

Check out video of the crowning below. Are you happy Fredericks won?!
