Sarah Silverman Blasts “Offensive” Women on The Bachelor

Truth rating: 10

(Lifetime)

Sarah Silverman has some choice words for the women on “The Bachelor.”

The comedienne discussed the show on the premiere of Lifetime’s “The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet” on Thursday, saying it’s bizarre that people consider her “offensive,” but not the women who degrade themselves to “win” a man on reality TV.

Silverman told De Cadenet, “I’ll tell you what’s offensive: these shows… that are on ABC during primetime. Twenty-five women in JC Penney prom dresses, fully grown, going, ‘He took us to a castle!’ No he didn’t. Producers procured a castle.”

“And there’s 25 of you — that’s how special you aren’t,” she added bluntly.

Silverman offered, “I think, ‘Wow, some young girl is watching this, and there should be a warning saying, ‘This is not acceptable behavior.’”

I don’t find Silverman funny, but, shes right on target. However most are there trying to become famous. Its very degrading to women.

I couldnt agree more, but I think most of these girls go on the show to get exposure to the media in hopes of getting acting or modeling gigs. The longer they get to stick around, the longer the *audition.* Even the winner rarely if ever gets to marry the *prize.*

i agree 100% that’s why i don’t watch any of these show, no Bachelor, no Idol, no Kardashians If it doesn’t involve a script and an actor i’m not interested.

These shows are marketed to the same bitter jealous catty females that read tabloids and attack other women, women want to see other women cut down, humiliated, dissed, attacked – its the Chelsea handler-ing of American society. Lazy stupid ineffectual do nothing mean girl losers, who have no stake or interest in what’s happening politically, or society, but are happy to attack some other woman for petty stupidmess. The show is vile.

I agree but, I think it suppose to be like a fairytale. You are trying to find your prince charming. But of course,in todays society I am sure that type of environment will breed unhealthy competition. I have to be honest I have never watched the bachelor. It is pretty degrading to say I want to chosen by you amongst 24 other women. I do like reality tv but that type of environment appears so contrived.
