Sam Woolf Performs with Phillip Phillips on American Idol Finale — WATCH VIDEO!
Sam Woolf performed with Phillip Phillips on Wednesday’s “American Idol” finale. The contestant’s prime time in the spotlight came three weeks after his elimination, when he failed to make the Top 4.
Woolf actually almost left the competition earlier in the season, during Top 8 week. As Gossip Cop reported, the 17-year-old received the fewest amount of votes that week, placing him in jeopardy of eliminated. He sang one last time in hopes of winning the judges’ lone save of the season… and got it! While that kept it him around longer, he ultimately failed stay in the same league as Top 2 finalists, Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene.
Phillips, of course, is the show’s season 11 winner. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, he previously performed during season 13, back in March. Now on stage with Woolf, the duo sang a mash-up of “Home” and “Raging Fire.”
Hopefully Phillips was able to provide Woolf some pointers and inspiration. The singer is one of the most successful “American Idol” winners in recent years, with “Home” going platinum four times. “Raging Fire” is proving to be a success, too, further solidifying Phillips’ post-“American Idol” career.
