Fifty Shades of Grey Director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Machine Gun Triggers Police Visit
Police were called to the home of Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her actor husband Aaron after a machine gun was spotted in the window, authorities have confirmed.
The firearm turned out to be a deactivated M16 assault rifle that had been given to the filmmaker as part of an art project.
But when an alarmed tipster saw the weapon on a desk inside the Taylor-Johnsons’ London residence on Thursday, police were summoned to the scene.
They entered the home with the assistance of a third party who possessed a key — neither Taylor-Johnson was home at the time of the law enforcement visit.
According to a rep for the couple, the M16 was in Sam Taylor-Johnson’s basement studio and had been given to her by the charity organization Peace One Day as part of a project that transforms fully decommissioned M16 assault rifles into art.
We’re glad that was straightened out.
