Sam Smith Breaks Guinness World Records With “James Bond” Theme Song And Debut Album (VIDEO)
Sam Smith has broken two Guinness World Records within a month following “Writing’s on the Wall” becoming the first “James Bond” theme song to reach number one in the UK charts, and his debut album In the Lonely Hour spending the most consecutive weeks in the top 10. As Gossip Cop reported, Smith is providing the Spectre theme song , which debuted last month in advance of the film’s November release. Despite artists such as Paul McCartney, Madonna, Bono and Adele having performed the theme songs for previous James Bond movies, Smith’s is the first-ever song to take the number one spot in the 52-year history of the franchise.
Additionally, is album In the Lonely Hour spent 69 consecutive weeks in the UK Top 10 Album Charts until just last week when it dropped to number 11. That incredible run was good enough for the world record, besting previous record holder Emeli Sandé whose album Our Version of Events spent 63 weeks in the top 10.
