Sam Claflin has been picked to play the prince in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Kristen Stewart is slated for the title role, with Charlize Theron tapped as the Evil Queen.

Claflin will appear in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

As for the Huntsman, Chris Hemsworth is rumored to top the list.

  Universal is really going low budget for the rest of the cast. Until POC comes out, no one knows who this guy is so they must have been able to get him cheap. Too bad it’s a thankless part that’s going to make him look like a wimp. He gets to stand around while Snow White gets all the action.

  Not very gook looking. If Chris Hemsworth gets the part of the huntsman he will be better looking than the prince. Not the way the fairy tale goes. I guess Universal is backing off on the project since they can not get the movie done before the other version….Why can’t the studios do anything orignal.

  I’ve been asking myself the same thing for quite a while and the only slightly acceptable answer I’ve come up with is… Because since the huge success of certain book made movie, everyone is trying to hit the same pot…?… Tho, adaptation has been happening before that book came, maybe not that successful, tho… Still, the adapt-rate has increased quite some…
  The other answer I’ve found is… Because creativity is lost in Bullywood…?… Because they’re lazy and it’s less-difficult to adapt a story, than to write a new one…?…
  Or because nothing sells more than the love-drama stuff, and Snow White is a classic in such…?…

  Anyhow… He looks nice… :)… I dunno much of the story, and I’ve heard is quite different from the tale, so… I’ll trust their casting dir, I guess…

  Given that the film is called Snow White and the *Huntsman*, not Snow White and the *Prince*, it kind of makes sense that the Huntsman role would go to the bigger name.

  This also isn’t some sappy Disney movie* remake, Snow White is going to be kicking butt in this version.

  *Don’t get me wrong, I like sappy Disney films. This just isn’t one of them, and that’s fine.
