Salma Hayek “Fuming Over” Sofia Vergara’s Success?

“Salma Has No Amor For Sofia,” reads a headline from the National Enquirer, which goes on to write, “Salma Hayek has a message for rival bombshell Sofia Vergara: Stay out of my way!”

According to one of the tabloid’s made-up sources, Hayek is “fuming that she’s been dethroned as Hollywood’s hottest Latina actress — and she’s fed up that Sofia’s ‘stealing’ all her acting roles.”

In a wholly fabricated quote, the mag’s so-called “source” says, “Salma hates Sofia’s thick, put-on gimmick of a Spanish accent and broken English… She says it’s not only getting old, but it’s demeaning and disrespectful to the Latin community.”

The Enquirer says with magazines, TV ads, and films, there’s a “Sofia overload — and it’s driving Salma crazy.”

Actually, what should be driving Hayek crazy are false reports like this one.

A rep for the Frida star says the Enquirer piece is “100% false,” and no one from the magazine even bothered to fact-check the story.

But that’s not all.

Hayek herself tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “I’ve know Sofia for a long time, and I’ve always believed in her gift as an actress. She is a true star and continues to raise awareness of the talent in the Latin community. I am very proud of her.”
