Salma Hayek Slams Donald Trump: “I’m A Dyslexic Mexican” And Never “Confuse 7/11 With 9/11”
Trump made the awful flub during a rally speech in Buffalo on Monday night, the eve of the New York primary. “Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down, and I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action,” the GOP frontrunner said. He did not correct himself, and his campaign later attributed the mistake to a slip of the tongue.
But the slip was about one of the biggest tragedies in U.S. history, and a topic Trump has returned to again and again throughout his campaign, touting his connection to New York City. Understandably, the mistake has angered many. And Hayek is among those upset.
She tweeted Tuesday morning, “I am a dyslexic Mexican and English is my second language, however even I do not confuse 7/11 with 9/11. #DonaldTrump.” Hayek’s comment also hits back at another Trump controversy. As Gossip Cop reported, the presidential candidate disparaged Mexicans last year, writing them off as “criminals” and “rapists.”
Hayek, of course, is neither, and she doesn’t get September 11th mixed up with the Seven-Eleven convenience store chain. The star previously ripped Trump on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last month. See video below.
