Salma Hayek heartbreakingly revealed on Friday that her beloved dog was fatally shot. See a photo of the actress’ late pooch below.

Hayek broke the news on Instagram in a message explaining why she hasn’t been on social media for the last few days. “I haven’t posted for a week as I been mourning the death of my dog, Mozart who I personally delivered out of his mother’s womb,” she wrote. “He was found dead in my ranch last Friday with a shot close to his heart.”

Hayek went on, “I am hoping that the Washington State authorities do justice to this wonderful dog whom in 9 years never bit or attacked anyone. He loved his territory and never strayed away… he was the most loving and loyal companion. He didn’t deserve a slow and painful death.”

The movie star, who also wrote the same statement in Spanish, included the hashtags, “#doglover #animalrights #dog #dogoftheday #rip #delivery #washingtonstateauthorities.” She added, “#muerte #perro #justiciaporlosanimales.” Hayek’s post has since been filled with comments from fans expressing condolences and concern.

It’s unclear if there is a suspect in the killing, or what other animals reside on Hayek’s ranch. Gossip Cop will update if Hayek shares more information. See the photo of Mozart below.
