Ryan Reynolds Refused To Help Promote Blake Lively Movie ‘The Shallows’?
Ryan Reynolds did NOT refuse Blake Lively’s request to help promote her new movie The Shallows, despite a completely false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to Star, the actress was worried about how her shark attack thriller would perform financially, and wanted husband Reynolds, hot off the box office smash Deadpool, to spread the word about her film. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Blake begged Ryan to do some red carpet stuff with her, but he made excuses.” The magazine’s dubious insider then claims that Lively found a “Plan B” to get around Reynolds’ supposed rejection, and allegedly “just brought Ryan up in every single interview, instead.”
But there’s one major flaw with the magazine’s report. Reynolds DID in fact go out of his way to help promote The Shallows, despite having no responsibility to do so. The actor gave shout-outs to his wife’s new movie in a couple of funny Instagram photos (see below), one of which features his Deadpool character superimposed onto the poster for The Shallows.
Irrespective of that giant gaffe on the publication’s part, Gossip Cop is also exclusively told by a rep for the couple that the magazine’s entire story is simply “not true.” It should also be noted, The Shallows is a bonafide hit, having already grossed more than double its budget in less than two weeks of release.
Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time that Star has created nonexistent friction between the happily married couple. Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid’s inaccurate claim that the two were “constantly fighting” over where to live and how to raise their daughter. The outlet’s latest report is equally untrue.
