Ryan Reynolds Wears Deadpool Costume To Meet Boy Battling Cancer (PHOTO)
Ryan Reynolds fulfilled the wish of a little boy battling cancer who wanted to meet Deadpool, the actor’s character in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. On Friday, Reynolds posted two photos of himself in his Deadpool costume with the boy, Tony Acevedo. See the touching pictures below.
Acevedo sent his wish to meet Reynolds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the actor gladly obliged. In one photo, Reynolds can be seen bending down in front of Acevedo, who’s wearing his Deadpool mask.
Reynolds wrote, alongside the photos he posted on Instagram, “I wasn’t expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile… and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed.” Luckily, the actor didn’t seem to mind getting beat up by Acevedo. “Tony’s next fight is with Hodgkin’s Disease,” he noted, adding, “Hodgkin’s Disease best be wearing its brown pants.” Reynolds then thanked the Make-A-Wish Foundation for bringing the two of them together, and making the little boy’s wish come true.
Reynold’s standalone film Deadpool, which is currently in production, is set for release in February 2016. Interestingly, Deadpool’s alter-ego, Wade Wilson, battles cancer in the original comic book series.
