Ryan Lochte Pitching TV Wedding?
Ryan Lochte is NOT pitching his upcoming wedding to Kayla Rae Reid as a TV special, despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
The Olympic swimmer announced his engagement to the Playboy model last week, and now according to the National Enquirer, he’s looking to publicize the nuptials. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “His people have been pitching the wedding to several different networks, but no one wants it.” The tabloid’s dubious insider further purports Lochte’s supposed plan is “all part of rehabilitating his image” following his Rio Olympics scandal, but “America hasn’t forgiven him yet” and “he can’t give the new show away.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Lochte, who exclusively assures us neither the swimmer or anyone in his camp has pitched a TV wedding, and the tabloid’s story is simply “not true.” Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had to call out the Enquirer for publishing a tall tale about the athlete.
Gossip Cop previously busted the publication for falsely alleging Lochte wasn’t interested in attending “Dancing with the Stars” rehearsals. We also corrected the tabloid’s sister outlet, RadarOnline, for wrongly reporting Lochte was demanding a personal “Dancing with the Stars” security team. There was not truth to those claims, and the same goes for this latest one.
