Ryan Lochte Not Interested In ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Rehearsals?
Ryan Lochte is NOT disinterested in rehearsing for “Dancing with the Stars,” despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “nonsense.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Lochte will be a contestant on Season 23 of “Dancing with the Stars,” which premieres Monday night on ABC. But according to the National Enquirer, the Olympic swimmer is supposedly apathetic to his new gig. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “He seems more interested in enjoying L.A. than rehearsing. He had no idea the amount of work needed to win.” The magazine further claims Lochte’s dance partner, Cheryl Burke, is upset with his alleged indifference to participating on the show.
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Lochte, who exclusively assures us the magazine’s claim is “totally nonsense.” We’re assured the Olympic gold medalist has been “fully dedicating himself to working on ‘DWTS,’ traveling back and forth between coasts between practicing and promoting the show.” Of course, Lochte has been at the center of negative publicity following last month’s Rio robbery scandal and his subsequent 10-month suspension from swimming, but the Enquirer’s seeming attempt to create more bad press for the Olympian is unjustified. As noted, Season 23 of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres Monday night at 8 p.m., and Gossip Cop will have coverage of the show.
