Ryan Lochte ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Talks Confirmed
Ryan Lochte is in talks to join “Dancing with the Stars,” Gossip Cop confirms. Season 23 of the ABC ballroom competition is slated to premiere on September 12.
Lochte’s involvement is “not finalized” yet, one source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop, but negotiations are underway. The new cast for the fall 2016 cycle is expected to be announced on “Good Morning America” next Tuesday, August 30. As Gossip Cop reported, some of the “Dancing with the Stars” pros for the new season were revealed this past Tuesday.
The news of Lochte potentially competing on the reality show comes just a few days after Gossip Cop busted HollywoodLife for falsely claiming it was out of the question. The webloid wrongly said an offer for Lochte to be on “Dancing with the Stars” was pulled in the wake of his Rio robbery scandal. Gossip Cop confirmed that wasn’t true, and clearly, we were right.
If the deal goes through, this would be Lochte’s second reality TV stint. He previously starred on the E! series, “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” Though it was short-lived in 2013, the episodes were recently re-aired on sister network Esquire to capitalize on the attention surrounding the Olympics controversy. A rep for Lochte declined to comment on the “DWTS” talks, and ABC does not comment on casting speculation.
